“A Natural Commodity”

The inspiration for this project stems from the contrast of nature between cactus plants and the fluidity of water. This is a body of work encapsulating the juxtaposition of these two elements. By incorporating the mathematical patterns found in cactus and the freeform of water droplets, I also combined various materials such as laser cut acrylics, ceramic, wool and machine embroidery to create a rich contrast of textures and by purposely minimalise the use of metal. Thus to defy conventional jewellery medium such as gold or silver. Each pieces of jewellery were carefully crafted by hand in order to achieve the most intricate details.
